Milnar Journal
Congreso Ibero – Latinoamericano deOdontologia
Dr. Milnar was one of 3 American Dentists invited to speak at the
5th Congreso Ibero – Latinoamericano deOdontologia (5th Congress
of Latin America including Spain and Portugal).

The meeting was held in Mazatlan, Mexico, June 12-15th, 2003. There
were over 4,000 dentists present. Dr. Milnar lectured to 1,500 dentists
speaking on the subject of “How to Utilize Today's Contemporary
Composites and Create Natural Looking Restorations. He also taught
a “Hands-On” course for 40 dentists to help them implement
these new materials. Dr. Milnar has been invited back in November,
2004 to speak at the 6th Congreso in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Teaching And Beyond
Orlando, FL: In the spring of 2003 Dr. Milnar presented at the
American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s Annual Scientific
Session. The course, titled “Incorporating Two Next Generation
Technologies to Replicate Natural Aesthetics,” explored the
amazing possibilities of new methods in smile rejuvenation. The
Shade Vision System, which provides computerized shade guide definitions
of a tooth by providing essential information to verify shade mapping,
and a new generation of composite materials, developed by 3M ESPE,
that incorporates "Nanotechnology."
In dentistry, shade and color are synonymous and are comprised
of visually sensitive attributes such as hue, chroma, and value.
Dr. Milnar will use these revolutionary technologies and his artistic
layering techniques to help aspiring or advanced clinicians in their
move to the next level of patient care. The doctors will know how
to create lifelike and restorative veneers, using precise optic
shade measurement and the advanced 3M ESPE Filtek Supreme composite.
St. Paul, MN: The Star of the North annual Minnesota dental conference
was at the Excel Center, spring 2004. Dr. Milnar taught an all day,
hands on course in esthetic dentistry. This course will help dentists
blend new restorations with adjoining natural teeth (a very complex
endeavor) and create healthy, rejuvenated smiles that last.
In September, 2002, Dr. Milnar presented his “Art and
Science” seminar to 53 doctors during a voyage to Alaska.
This seminar schedule, sponsored by Ultradent, brings the latest
advances and techniques in smile care to doctors all over North
America.
In late September 2002, spoke in Tucson during the genR8TNext annual
dental conference. This conference brought together dentists from
all over the world to experience the latest in dental technology,
training and techniques. Dr. Milnar explained how he revitalizes
smiles with Vitalescence, an incredibly lifelike composite bonding
system.
Enhancing a smile to meet your expectations requires attention
to detail, exacting artistry and a complete knowledge of the material
being used. Dr. Milnar's seminar shows dentists how to perfectly
match the different shades of the Vitalescence system to each patient's
smile, and layer-by-artistic-layer, sculpt a lifelike masterpiece.
This hands-on, teaching course is for dentists who expect superior
results; it is the level of dentistry you deserve.
In May of 2002, Dr. Milnar traveled to Hawaii to teach a course
in the art and science of harmonizing tooth color. The course was
held in Honolulu in conjunction with the American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry's (AACD) 18th Annual Scientific Session. Many of the world's
best dentists went to the conference to learn more about advanced
dentistry. Dr. Milnar helped dentists develop practical strategies
for exceptional clinical results and natural tooth color shading.
The presentation demonstrated how to use various small particle
hybrid composites (advanced tooth material) to create smile masterpieces.
This "nano-technology" is changing the face and color
of dentistry. The course focused on how to effectively observe natural
teeth, understand tooth structure in relationship to color, and
to fully grasp the optical properties of light and the four dimensions
of color: hue, chroma, value, and translucency. The doctors learned
how perfect color balance and long-term clinical results are achieved
through proper layering techniques, micro-hybrid tooth material
selection, and finishing and polishing techniques. Besides educating
his fellow dentists, Dr. Milnar brings this level of care to each
one of his patients.
In June, Dr. Milnar spoke to a number of doctors in Detroit, who
run a multi-doctor dental practice. He focused on his "visual
thinking strategy," which incorporates the science of dentistry
with his artistic smile design concepts.
